He who finds a wife finds a good thing, And obtains favor from the Lord.
This Scripture was given to me March 26, 2015. Almost a month ago today and at the time, I don’t believe I was thinking about marriage, hopefully not as I was still in the beginning stages of recovery from an injury. But I pondered this thought and every time I would read it, a little more was revealed to me. Then the revelation was given to me completely and that too, I kept in my heart. Last night, I was up for a short while late and the Lord told me to write and I asked Him what I should write and he said anything. I was thinking of every other story I had ever written it was something I tore into pieces after reading it over again. Well I guess He had other plans starting with this morning, when I had all these household duties I was going to do and had no peace so I stopped and asked God to show me what I needed to do. I think what He showed me is so powerful for us waiting, preparing and already there.
And the Lord God said, “It is not good that man should be alone, I will make him a helper comparable to him. Out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of the field and bird of the air and brought them to Adam to see what he would call them. 20’…But for Adam there was not found a helper comparable to him.’ 21 And the Lord caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam and he slept,
Your Adam may just be asleep, as God is getting you prepared for him; ‘ and closed up the flesh in its place.’ You are a missing piece in your Adam’s life. We like to say Boaz but I find this way more romantic, no shade though. 22 Then the rib which the Lord God had taken from Man He made into a woman,’ God took everything Adam had known to be created from the ground, but not this creation, it was carved, sculpted beautifully, perfectly from the essence of him. ‘and He brought her to the man.’ Adam was fully awake, not drowsy, not still healing, but fully aware as she was revealed to him. Ladies let God fully awake your Adam, so he can be fully awake in Christ Jesus, when you are revealed. 23 And Adam said,’ Adam gave a speech, not only did he take time to behold her but he spoke about her. So if you can’t be brought up to his parents, friends and family, that may not be your Adam. He did not just see and just name her, as he did when God brought the animals to him. I believe he had a love at first sight revelation of what he was missing in life.
“This is now bone of my bones
And flesh of my flesh;
She shall be called Woman,
Because she was taken out of a Man.”
What is the importance of the rib cage?
According to medicallibrary.com The rib cage has three important functions:
1. Protection: It encloses and protects the heart and lungs.
Have you ever seen a movie when a man declares his love for a woman and as he does, he places his hand over his heart and says something similar to this ‘You have my heart, mi amour!’ Or have you seen a broken hearten widower who really loved and cared for his wife. It is as if someone knocked the wind from under him, crushing his heart.
2. Supports: It provides a strong framework onto which the muscles of the shoulder girdle, chest, upper abdomen and back can attach.
We use to go visit my brothers when I was younger, one married and one not. My married brother had a wife, children, with a house fully furnished and the kids playing and running in the house. My bachelor brother at his apartment, had an air mattress, a folding table set, plastic ware, and not too much to spare to eat. He had a true bachelor pad, there were no doubts of it. You see even if a woman doesn’t know how to cook, give her six months in a loving marriage and she’ll be ‘Betty Crocker’ tossing three course meals, seven days a week. These meals support a man’s health, if the man is healthy, his mind is clear, a clear mind can hear the things God wants him to hear. He can support the family at his job happily, no matter the mess he has to deal with. The woman that encourages her husband, cheers him all the way to the gate, leaving loves notes in his car, if he as to work late give him a call, text, leave a message. Baby be that support, you will reap the reward.
3. Respiration: It is flexible; it can expand and contract by the action of the muscles of respiration.
Are you Flexible? This is a blocker for most, I said most women. It’s where submission comes into play. If God calls your husband to pack up you and the family and move across country, across town, or out of the country can you be flexible? Can you expand your faith with your husband and contract your own selfish wants and desires and leave family, friends and familiarity of the life you have at that moment? Being the rib is about protecting, supporting and at any moment being flexible.
verse 24, ‘ Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.
Becoming One flesh is deeper than a sexual matter, it is a mind, soul and spirit occupation. Couples who love one another, care for each other and give their marriages one hundred percent eventually to me start to look and think alike. Reflecting off on another and does not a reflection show, you? Does not becoming one with God do the same? (I Corinth 6:17 says, ‘When we become joined with God, we come One in Spirit.’ Phil 2:5 “Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus.)
God saw and said that man should not be alone, not Adam. Adam was probably chilling, eating, petting tigers, climbing trees unconcerned, not even looking for a wife until she was brought before him. Once God revealed her and fully awakened him and he beheld a good thing and obtained favor. One definition of favor by Google web search is ‘an act of kindness beyond what is due or usual’.
Genesis 24 Abraham’s servant asked God to show kindness to His master to find a wife for Isaac (to show favor) to reveal to him who should be comparable to be Isaac’s bride and before the servant could finish Rebekah showed up. Be that Favor that comes upon your Adam’s or Isaac’s life.
Because He who finds a wife, finds a good thing and obtain’s favor from the Lord.
