Faith Choices over Fear Choices
Romans 8:17 For many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are the sons of God.
I love talking with God, He has good advice about everything, every situation in any moment. He usually catches me while I’m doing something else or says something that I may not comprehend. I had been in prayer the night before asking him to tell me and show me what to do. Every time I do that he does or says something unexpectedly. He said, “I have a place and a time for you, let me lead you in that.” God is a true gentleman, you will see and hear me say that over time. For me to let him, gives me a deeper meaning of free will and Faith choices in life. A few days later He says again, “I have a purpose, time and place for you.” I write as much as I can down when God tells me something like that, so that I can remember it and look back on it.
I love to confess Isaiah 55:9, ‘his thoughts and ways are higher than my own’; during prayer, hard decisions, or if something or someone rubs me the wrong way. Thank you, Lord for teaching me better. I’m learning day by day that we have to look at life from God’s perspective to live this life. Psalm 23 verse 3…’He leads me in the paths of righteousness, For His name’s sake.’ As my Pastor asks, ‘Are You Handling Kingdom Business?’ We are the sons/daughters of God if we are led by the Spirit of God. If we are His children and the kingdom is His will (business) shouldn’t we know the trade. Faith runs the kingdom of God; James 1:6-7 But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord;’… A family business that has been around for a while is passed down to each generation. The core values and morals keep the business going even as the times change. Matthew 24:35, Jesus says this, ” Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.” So no matter how technology speeds up or how bad things maybe going on in this world, God’s Word still stands. If the Holy Spirit is leading us, that has to mean he knows the way.
My son loves , ‘Jake and the Neverland Pirate’s, probably because they are always going on an adventure. Sometimes they get a map or see a trail leading to the place they need to go. On that trail they run into Hook and his mates always trying to mess something up or the path has some challenges along the way. They overcome those issues and press toward the ‘X’ that marks the spot. Capt. Hook may beat them sometime to the treasure and even runoff with it but in the end they always get the treasure and sing a victory song. We need to start having a praise in our mouth before, during and after the battles.
The Holy Spirit knows what is on the path to righteousness, we are to busy looking at the ‘X’. He knows the trials, test, tribulation, the persecution you will face. He knows also that Satan can’t have your life as well, so put your trust in God, have faith to overcome and believe in and on Him. When you step out on faith, your ways are being made perfect (Phil 2:13-15) God told Cain in Genesis 4:7, If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin lies at the door. And its desire is for you, but you should rule over it.
If you make faith choices, your ways will be righteous (perfect) before the Lord. (Psalm 19:14) If you choose fear (doing things in disobedience, persuaded by what people think, your reputation:instead of what you KNOW God told you to do. Use the movie ,’The Lion King’ as an example. Mufasa and Simba had a conversation about a dark place near all their land. Simba wanted to find out what that place was and he and Nala went to investigate, something they didn’t have any business doing. Nala was that voice saying, ‘this is a bad idea’. That tug in our spirit when we are headed down the wrong path and it’s holding the light over our head. Simba thought he was ‘mista big stuff’ and they went anyways. Hyenas chased them and Mufasa had to come save them. When they got home, Mufasa said, ‘You deliberately disobeyed me, after I told you not too, you could have gotten yourself and Nala killed. When we walk in disobedience we kill ourselves and other people, that look up to us. How many souls have perished because we are too scared to walk in Faith and Obedience? Jesus said in Mark 16:15, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.” When they went into the land, Simba didn’t know that Scar had set them up, but he took heed to his uncle’s word instead of his father’s. Let’s choose faith over fear!
Being perfect has nothing to do with your own self-righteousness but making faith choice over fear choices, for God’s name sake. Then you shall be found without spot or wrinkle.(2 Peter 3:14) Let’s make faith choices in every moment, because perfect pratice, makes perfect.
Psalm 91:14-16 Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on high, because he has known my name. He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him. With long life will I satisfy him, And show him My salvation.
2 Timothy 1:7 For God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
