Speak Those Things…Boldly

Obedience is Better than Sacrifice

Tonight is a night I want to share two most skipped teachings in the whole Christian world or it is misused. For the last two weeks, when something that is not proper in my life the Spirit says ‘Speak to it.’ My son was having a terrible inner ear infection and they were frequent and I stayed in the hospital almost two hours for them to give him the same medicine that is not helping as the earaches is what he had dealt with since birth. Getting into the car from the hospital, I was mad because I was totally frustrated not only had his ear been bothering him, his top gums had swollen. The Spirit said ‘speak to it’, I don’t remember questioning because for one it was very clear and I trust God. The next day no earache and no swollen gums. If I would have blown that off my son would probably would have been sick longer and we just did not need that. So being obedient to the Holy Spirit, got me through and I believe my son is totally healed from ear infections and swollen gums.

Mark 11:23-24 For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believe that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.

Acts 4:25-31 (verse 29) “Now, Lord, look on their threats, and grant to Your servants that with all boldness they may speak Your Word,”…

Romans 4:17 as it is written, (I have made you a father of many nations) in the presence of Him who believed- God, gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did;

Obedience and Speaking goes hand in hand. Numbers 20 (8-12) Moses and Aaron was told to speak to the rock but he struck it, twice. Then not permitted to go into the promise land. 1 Samuel (15:22-23) The prophet Samuel gave a word to Saul that he was to destroy everything in the land, taking nothing but instead he brought what he thought was the best of the livestock, listening to his men. Samuel told him that ‘To obey is better than sacrifice’ and that rebellion was as witchcraft and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry.’ Saul lost the anointing to be King over Israel and we know that David was anointed king not to much long afterward.

Sometimes we think we know better than God. I know many times in life I thought I knew better and it was all fun for that moment but now if I were to look back, I wasted a lot of time. I had to go through things I put myself in because I did not listen to the Holy Spirit. I wasted time, money, peoples lives, and moments that I could have shared Christ, I choose not too. I am a living witness that it is a true waste of time to not listen to the things of God. It may be the very thing that saves your life. Say you have a business or a invention or book and a company wants to sponsor you but God tells you no. You convince yourself, go to your friends get their advice. (Sometimes a second opinion will cost you to walk the wrong path). So you do it anyway, now that the company has rights, and can boss you and tell you what you can and cannot not do. They say you can’t say Jesus, talk about God in fact you have to compromise all you, once you get deep into the deal. God got you where you were and had better for you because he knew how crooked they were. He knew their intentions. You say what does this have to do with speaking. If God tells you to say ‘No, Thank You.’ Can you say those few words, can you obey the word of God. Abram (Abraham) in Genesis 14:22-23 declined the offer to gain the spoils after he went to battle to save lot. He tells the King of Sodom, ‘I have raised my hand to the Lord, God Most High, the Possessor or heaven and of earth, that I will take nothing from a thread to a sandal strap, and that I will not take anything that is yours, lest you should say,’ I have made Abram rich-‘ . Satan offered Jesus the kingdoms of the earth and their glory if Jesus fell down and worshiped him. Jesus told him, ‘Away with you Satan! For it is written; You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve. Satan has been running this scheme since he convinced one-third of the angels to follow him. He may speak through family, friends, spouses, someone that you look up too. You have to know what God told you! What did God tell you, what did His word say! If God says you will have favor with one company don’t let another come in with all the flamboyant and shiny toys outweigh the things of God. If God sends you to your enemy and says pray for them but you decide you don’t like them and won’t go, (cough cough Jonah), go anyway and repent because that enemy may be your door to an answered prayer. So if Satan is getting in your head about something, speak the things of God, His Word and what he has told you and when you line up with the Word, things have to change.  God says His Word never returns to Him void. (Isaiah 55:11)

When the fear of death, illnesses, accidents comes upon me. I remind myself of scripture and personal words that God has spoken to me. Where I work, I sometimes have to be in a tower at night and to get to my job, I have to cross the bridge over the river and for a while I would have the worse thoughts about both because of the fear of heights. One night in the tower climbing to the top, the Spirit said, “You will not die by tragedy, Miriam, with long life shall I satisfy you.” So now if I get that feeling. I repeat what God told me out loud, even working the environment that I do, I live by that. It builds up my spirit man. It helps me step more in obedience of God. So if He calls me into an ‘unsafe place’. I have His word to stand on. 2 Timothy 1:7 says it best, ‘God gives us not the spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. Trust the Word of God and walk in the obedience. It’s not going to be easy. Believe me, sometimes I’m just like God, I’m scared. He reminds me of what he told Jeremiah, ‘be not afraid of their faces.’ Even writing this blog, when I first did decided to just do it and stand on His Word, I knew that I was afraid but I was dependent on God in total. I can’t do this by myself and if I ever stop it’s because God has stopped my employment in this area. I won’t do it without Him. If God is saying that’s done with now. I am willing to let go. I’ve been through enough trying to making it without Jesus. I stand, speak and obey if I don’t get it every time, I will dust off and listen the next. Be Bold living for God! Have Faith! Speak to the mountains! Satan has been deceiving people for a long time, but the faith choices we make, his voice will lessen and God’s will become clearer. Be encouraged brothers and sisters! The best is yet to come.

Just Miriam

Hebrews 4:12 For the Word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is the discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Isaiah 40:31 But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not be faint.
