All the Single Ladies!

It’s August and I have yet to figure out why every year for the last few years around April to September why God always puts on my heart marriage. I have hints but I think I just started to accept it this year that He is preparing me for the position called Wife. Before I can get there I must go through training, training that the world does not offer. I didn’t come to go deep into the training but God gave me a word to share and that I should blog it. So the next two or three paragraphs will be what he gave to me to share with the dear ladies following me, Kingdom women!

“Marriages are my idea, them to stop putting time limits on my timing, my purpose, my plan. You say you have to have this and do that, but what I want is for you to listen and obey, heed to my word and my will. That is how you prepare for a mate, the world will have you missing out, I laugh at the plans of man; my way is perfect, my timing is perfect, my peace is perfect. stop fretting and being so busy Martha, you can’t hear what I am saying. You see why some of your plans have not become as they should because you need a covering, someone to envision with a husband, you cannot be with me alone, I never designed you for that. Two is better than one, stop whining over cold sheets, what your family is saying, your friends are saying. Because who I bring into your life, most of them will think you don’t deserve him, you don’t worry about their words but you hear and follow my instructions.

My beloved daughters, my Queens, more precious than rubies, who laugh at tomorrow, who have no fear, but fears the Lord, and she shall be praised.”

Look God got you better than you got yourself, continue in His paths and before you know it the man that is your husband will be before you! God bless!

Streching My Faith

image

It feels great to write a post, I have not written many in this month but I will be back on it very soon! How is everyone doing, I’m getty because soon the site will be update and some very special things are going to be coming up this year!

Back to the title topic! God has been stretching me far and wide, one thing I have and am learning is to rejoice and dance in the storm.

Rain helps things grow! My 104 year old resident use to sing every morning and say if it was raining, ‘Dear thank Jesus for the rain because without it we would have no food, grass, or pretty flowers. She loved Jesus and I was sad when she passed.

She was right without the rain it would be dry as we know it. We would be in famine! We’ll I have been in a famine period in some areas of my life but God!!

Back in August the Lord said I will catch you up, propel you into your destiny. At first when He gave me the instructions to do something I was not sure, I hated it the whole season but about November, God started breaking me from my old ways of doing things. He was stretching me, once you stretch something it never returns to its former self. So as I was being stretched in my faith and levels with God, I was trying  to do things as I did before. Hustle, I was trying to hustle hard, not realizing I was not resting in Him.

It took me a moment to even hint that I may be doing things wrong. Then I started praising more, listening more, being captivated by Him and going forward in obedience and not only was my faith being stretch and still is I could see it, I could understand and then when God kept telling me to re-read Matthew 8, I was like okay. I read it and read it and even listen to it. It wasn’t until I was driving home in a new car today on the highway by myself did I even realize what God had been doing! He was having me read His Word to fill me up for the particular time to use it at the moment. There is a Word for every situation in our lives we have to be willing to use the Word in each situation.

The Centurion comes to Jesus and ask that He speak! To speak the healing on His servant, you don’t physically have to come Lord, I recognize the power and the authority, you have over death, sicknesses and disease just Speak the Word only! My Pastor has been teaching a series called ‘The Word’ and let me say it has been wrecking my life in such a grand way! I love it!

The Lord has been unveiling Himself to me, not because I am Miriam but because I said Lord whatever you want surrender and humbling my will to His! I die right now so that You can live! I had to learn to stretch my faith, no matter what storm, hell, chaos, season or time of day and night. I had to see myself ahead before I ever stepped ahead!

“Come.” As Jesus told Peter, get out of the boat and walk on water!! Let God stretch you!! I am going to be above never beneath.

Please Stop. Let it Go.

I just could not help myself, it’s cold outside as well! Why not bring Frozen into this (lol)… Anyway that’s not what this post is about.

Earlier this morning I was reading about God telling Samuel to go anoint the next king of Israel (For a personal study project). Then a scripture and this blog post was born for some morning encouragement, night, or evening…wherever and whenever you may read this.

1 Samuel 16: 1 Now the Lord said to Samuel, “How long will you mourn for Saul, seeing I have rejected him from reigning over Israel? Fill your horn with oil, and go; I am sending you to Jesse the Bethlehemite. For I have provided Myself a king among his sons.”

Today you may be mourning over a relationship asking why didn’t it work out, did you do something wrong, or why didn’t you see it coming?  Maybe it is a wayward child that you have done everything for including raise right? Maybe it’s your past life that keeps popping up. Whatever it is, just stop right there. God has brought you a mighty long way and just because you don’t see behind the scenes does not mean you just wallow in your pity. Get up and go out to do what God is sending you too! Just because something you did before, failed does not mean the next thing will and it does not stop God from receiving the glory. Maybe s/he was the one and then s/he were having their own troubling relationship with God. Then again maybe God was saving you from a headache or 3. (Been there done that). Maybe it is a child, maybe its that record, that unsteady job history, whatever you think is keeping you from going forward. LET IT GO!

God has other things for you to do and it’s not to sit and mope all day over something that was in yesterday. Samuel anointed Saul, it was Saul’s disobedience that got his crown snatched. Samuel also anointed David which we have gotten one of the intimate books from: Psalms and his throne is everlasting, some grandsons down the line came our Savior! So come on get up and get too doing what God is asking you, you can leave a God-lead legacy!! Have a wonderful day and let it go and go towards your destiny!

Surviving the Holidays Single

screenshot_2015-11-25-14-14-27_20151125144139359.jpg

This came up discussing a movie with my bestfriend (Joi) where a young woman hires someone to play her fake fiance because she never told her mom that her fiance broke up with her. She wanted to please her overbearing mom that desperately wanted her daughters to get married to career driven, thriving men. Anyways as movies go she married the man she hired and dumped her fiance that came back after his job denied him a promotion.

Hi, I’m single and also a mom! Most of my friends are not married, like 99%. So here comes the questions like; why aren’t you dating, you are too pretty to be single? Why are you waiting? Where is his dad (my son), I thought you all were so cute (my family that hasn’t seen me in years)!?

So hear is the quality question for you, Are you worth more than holiday bashing? Yes you are! I’ve only had one guy over for holiday dinners. So I never get hey ‘I thought you were dating so and so’. Just remember what God is doing for you and in you, as He is fulfilling youand enjoy being single. It is wonderful to be free instead of trying to impress your family with someone who is sucking the life out of you. You are worth the wait! So that year you do bring the one home, you will be confident that they will be the one that will come each time. People are fickle, the ones that want you to be happy understand you are following the Lord. His say is the most important and lasting. Because you see most of your family and friends just see you once or twice a year. Single this year, YES! I’m happy, not stressed and not trying to impress! Happy Thanksgiving! Merry Christmas!

Queens Blogging for the Kingdom!

It’s the day after my birthday but I celebrate the whole month!!

A day late on the post but the ladies that I am presenting to you, words are always a right now word!

I really think I will do this once a month because there is so much God led encouragement out there and I want it to be known!

The first lady I am presenting to you is like my boss! I have followed her on social media for maybe 4 to 5 years and she is completely amazing. Her name is Shantae Richardson from Philadelphia relocated to Atlanta founder of TeamExLesbian which was created from her own testimony of being delivered from the life of homosexuality; and also PursueMeBlog which encourages single woman to chase after Christ and His purpose for their life, rather than chase after the man. I am absolutely excited about all the things she has planned and I am glad to have been asked to be on board! She is so encouraging. If you check out her blog, Instagram, Twitter, you will certainly fall in love with Jesus because of her presentation of Him. Check out thepursuemeblog.com

The next women of God I will present is Erica. I you use to wonder did anyone like to blog like me that was close to home, that loved Jesus like me that could inspire me to keep writing, that made me think that with my words can certainly change the world.

Well I certainly found that woman to inspire me, her name is Erica Johnson an active advocate for young girls to be equipped to become bold and wise young ladies. This single mother of two, Jakobe and Jace White, was born and raised in Little Rock, Arkansas. She is the daughter of Bishop and Lady Silas Johnson. Erica attended the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. Last but surely not least is Victoria! I don’t follow everyone on Instagram that follows me because I like my timeline to be as clean as possible. I remember Victoria started following me and like I always do I do a quick trip down someone’s post to see what they are posting. So I saw this beautiful young lady, with a message to remember ‘I’m Somebody’s Good Thing.’ I listen, I watch, and I learn. She may be younger than me but I have no problem being a student.

Victoria Armstead is the visionary and founder of a movement called, “I’m Somebody’s Good Thing”.  For quite some time, she had been praying and asking God to give her a tool to reach women. God answered that prayer! Through a conversation, with her sister Dionna Jackson, He gave her the “I’m Somebody’s Good Thing” movement.

This movement strives to teach and assure ladies of their value, worth, beauty, and treasure by causing them understand that validation and self-esteem are not given by man, but by God. The basis and premises of this movement is Proverbs 18:22 where it says, “He who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from the Lord.” The reason this scripture was chosen is because while reading I got a revelation. Many people know this scripture and quote it religiously, but she wanted to introduce us to a deeper meaning.  She wants people to notice that it says that ‘the man finds a good thing, and not that she becomes a good thing after she is sought out by a man.’ Women are indeed that treasure of endless value before the pursuit even begins and that’s why the scripture goes on to say that the man is granted God’s favor. She believes it’s about time that our women realize this about themselves and God has given her a charge to help her sisters.

She uses tools like social media and apparel to spread this message. ‘I’m Somebody’s Good Thing’ also likes to go and speak to women face to face whether it be one-on-one, at a workshop, or conference. So far this movement has been able to inspire so many ladies and we want MORE! She has chosen to take a stand to say, “I’m Somebody’s Good Thing” and it is her heart’s desire that ladies all over the world will join her. She earnestly wants to bring glory to God by promoting wholeness through Him!

She also recently released her single “Good Thing”, which is the theme song for the ISGT Movement! It is available on iTunes, Amazon, and Google Play!

Here’s her website!

You know what all these ladies are beautiful women of God and I AM SO excited to get to know them, even if they are miles away. They really have touched my life in ways that maybe they don’t know!

That’s why I couldn’t go without recognizing them because if they are influencing me and pushing me to be my best for the Lord in such a gentle and loving manner, I want them to do the same for you!

So don’t just check out this blog, check out theirs and it will change your life!

Unequally yoked?

Just because you meet them at church, doesn’t mean they are the one, demons go to church too.- anonymous

I have had this defined in so many ways, read about it in books and blogs but from the way that I had an understanding when I asked God what would be a definite sign that a man that approached me wasn’t my husband. Of course I was given scripture.

II Corinthians 6:14 Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness.

God put it to me this way, “Miriam why would you want to marry someone who does not believe as high as you do?” I have played the dating game, been through the fornication files, and tried to change every Charlie I dated. People are not going to change because you want them to change or beg them, drag them. I believe the old saying is ‘you can take the horse to the water but you can’t make him drink’. I’ve been saved for almost 20 years, I go to a Word-based, faith-filled church and I have been a member almost 5 years this coming January. My pastor teaches and preaches but if I do not apply the word he is teaching me, it is basically going in one ear and out of the other. As he taught last night and I have been learning to do all year is let go of my will and take on God’s will. If that person isn’t heeding to God I guarantee they will not heed to your whining, crying and temper tantrums. Night and day, I have learned to ask God to teach me His way in areas that I am troubled in and strengthen areas I don’t have as much trouble in. My faith has gone from level to level almost daily now, I am in total awe of God. Everyday He teaches me something new, shows me something different and keeps me at the edge of my seat.

I can’t marry someone who is not as awed by God as I am, it would be a dapper, a block and most likely a distraction. Yes that man may very well go to church, sing in the choir, be an usher but if his relationship with Christ is just showing up but fruitless in the faith depart and can’t tell you who Peter is from Paul, Houston we have a problem. So before I look at Billy, Bob, or Joe as potential suitors, if their fruit isn’t gleaming from the tree, it is certainly forbidden fruit.

I have went through plenty of headache and heartache too know that I apparently cannot pick the mate that compliments my life. So next time think about your faith walk, not how good he or she looks, talks or walks. God will allow people to reveal the real them quicker than you can pray ‘Lord is this the one.” Don’t ignore the red flags! I have so many times but when God asked me that question, I knew for real that I could not have anyone that keeps me from pursuing my Creator. I am in love with God and I want to marry someone that loves God over me, his own life, our children, this very world, so as the leader of the home; his family can follow suit.

Remember ladies and gentlemen: Everything that glitters is not gold, don’t be fooled.

*I am in no rush to be married, I do know God is preparing me for that next step. I think this topic has been tossed around so much and this is how God revealed it to me.*

You’re A Vegetarian, What About Your Future Husband?

I am asked this question a lot from my friends and others. Sometimes I wonder why are they so concerned. (lol)

I know why they ask, they just want me to be available because I can be a pretty ‘get to the point’ person. I enjoy that love and concern my family and friends have to offer at times. Then there are times I never pay attention. What about my future husband and what if he isn’t a vegetarian like me? Guess what people, neither is my son. He is a full on omnivore and loves to eat meat. His favorite thing is turkey bacon and blueberry homemade pancakes, if he could eat every day he would. He loves chicken whether fried, broiled, baked or barbecued. He even likes catfish (which no one in this house cooks), but his other nana cooks it and he loves it. No one in this house cooks pork but he eats it when he goes with his uncle and nana and I don’t get mad about it. I am vegetarian because I like it and you know what I may not stay one forever and that is okay too. I encourage any and everyone to seek God for health concerns, losing weight, anything and everything in your life should be a conversation between you and the Creator. He knew us before our parents ever, ever thought about us. Right now you know what I do for my future husband? I don’t stress about when, where, or how? I pray for him real tough. I know if God is with me in my wilderness right now and forever more, our vision is going to have to match. I am more concerned about his soul and whether he is a man after God’s own heart than whether he wants to eat a steak for dinner every night.  About my future husband, I just pray that we are friends, we court, and then we get married, that way we can have some things smoothed out before the ‘I WILLs’.

Romans 10:3 NKJV  Let not him who eats despise him who does not eat, and let not him who does not eat judge him who eats; for God has received him.

Colossians 2:16 NKJV So let no one judge you in food or in drink, or regarding a festival or a new moon or Sabbaths,

Just Miriam

Collected Hope

How do we collect hope for the things of God? It is the same as “Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.” (Romans 10:17)

I was asking God about my faith being strengthened in my weak areas, the areas I tend to fall most. In some areas my faith is way up and others not so much. In that very search He showed me something more about remembering how he brought me out so many other times and how my faith increased in those other areas that were way up.

When we hear the Word of God, (reading out loud is what I tend to do), it builds up that Spirit man on the inside of us. So I like to think collecting hope is remembering how He moved in our lives and people around us and those we read about in the 66 love letters of the Bible. In the Jewish tradition many children start at young age learning the Shema.

In the Shema in verses Deuteronomy 6:6-9 it says, “And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. 7 You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up 8 You shall bind the as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as front lets between your eyes. 9 You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.

It’s a constant reminder, not only for themselves but also to be put before each generation, to never forget who God is. It gives hope, builds faith, that the same God that did it for their great- great grand parents, can do it for them in that very moment. He is God and He changes not and His children are just that His.

Hope in definition by Merriam-Webster- is to cherish a desire with anticipation or trust. My son will be seven in February and he does not let me forget it. Disney Land is what I have planned for him next summer because I believe that He will enjoy it a lot more at a little older age. Even though he has not been to Disney Land and has no proof that he is going, he anticipates it, he talks about it all the time, he tells his cousins about it and he is genuinely excited about going to Disney Land. My son is looking forward to somethings, one of his cousins went this past summer and so now he is really excited because someone else had so much fun. He has never ever experienced it but because his cousin has, it has blown the top of his hope. Matthew 18:2, (paraphrased) ‘Jesus called a little child to him and told the people if they didn’t convert and become as little children, they wouldn’t enter the kingdom of heaven.’ You can tell a child something that can change their life and they will not forget it, when it happens, they will talk about it forever. It’s a memory they will not ever forget. It’s some things in my life that God has already given me a word for, even my weak areas. Joel 3:10 …’Let the weak say,’I am strong.’ Isaiah 40:29 and 31 ‘He gives power to the weak, And to those who who have no might He increases strength.’ ‘But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.’ Hebrews 11:1 ‘Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.’ I love breaking down words and phrases, I have a great example to follow my Pastor. I officially have collected four Bibles behind this studying (lol) and one I downloaded was the Orthodox Jewish Bible and it reads in Hebrews 11:1, ‘Now Emunah is the substance of things which we have tikvah. Emunah is the conviction of things seen not.’ After looking up each meaning I read it like this, ‘Now steadfastness/ perseverance is the form or solidity of things which we have collected hope. Steadfastness/ perseverance is the firm belief of things not seen.

Last week was really my first full week back in church, I worked out of town for about six weeks and before then the job I had before; it was my weekend to work, so I missed service then as well. So to come back into my study and it line up with what my Pastor is teaching on made my heart leap literally. It was a lot of things said on Wednesday night and Sunday service that totally made this particular post just hit right in the heart. I’ll give you a few highlights that touched my heart:

Wednesday Night:  ‘Trust God, versus what people say and how you feel, keep looking for the good.’ ‘Learn how to let your spirit man take over.’ ‘When you are in the spirit, you are years ahead.’ Sunday Morning: The Word works all by itself.’ ‘When the Word is spoken, take heed to it.’ 3 C’s: Communion (communicating by listening and speaking). Command (speak over your life: bind and loose) Commitment (stay consistent). Shower of Power service: ‘Don’t mind the things of the flesh- but keep your attention on the things of the Spirit. -Pastor S. Vincent Johnson

So I may not see the physical manifestation but when I read the Word of God and see how He parted the Red Sea when Moses stepped into faith, how He ensured David to kill the giant and his brothers, and Elijah called down fire from heaven. When I read about Jesus healing the sick, raising the dead, feeding the thousands, casting out demons. I get hope for the lost when I read about Saul, being blinded on the road to Damascus and recovering his sight only to  become a follower of Christ Jesus, teaching and preaching. I get hope and my faith is overflowing not only for my sake but for every person I come in contact with. Hope is essential for your Faith walk, it gives you that vision board whenever God puts something in your heart to do. It’s that constant reminder that He has down this before and He will do it again. When I see God fearing marriages, progressing and putting God at the head of the household, I have just collected hope in my heart building up my faith. Talking to God about my future comes to me easier, listening to His direction isn’t difficult.

I want you and me together to continue collecting hope, by reading, studying the Word, get around some like minded individuals that want to see you walk on water!!

Philippians 4:8

Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.

Trading Places

2 Corinthians 8:9 For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sake He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich.

I don’t know if you all have seen or remember this movie with Eddie Murphy called Trading Places, where they make the rich guy poor and the poor guy take his place, but in the end they both become rich.

Well in church today, our pastor called up all those who suffered with depression. I most certainly went up because I am not ashamed to admit, that I deal with it. It is lesser when I focus on Jesus and I believe I am completely healed. In the moments of worship, so gently but so reassuring almost like a vision, Jesus said to me, ‘I wore the crown of thorns so you could wear the crown of Glory.’ In the vision He showed me, Him putting the crown of thorns on His head and putting a golden crown on my head. That broke me, I forget, we forget that God has counted us worthy. It is so humbling to know that He came to trade places with me and in the end we are both winning.

I love people and I love people to know that they belong to a royal priesthood and we are co-heirs with Christ Jesus. My hearts desire is to please God and help people to know who they truly are through His blood and by His name. Jesus traded places and bore every sin that you would ever commit. God is the one person I can totally vouch for, that he will never leave you, nor forsake you. God’s thoughts are higher than our thoughts and ways higher than ours. I love the way David see us through God’s eyes in this translation*.

Psalm 8:4-8 New Living Translation

what are mere mortals that you should think about them,
human beings that you should care for them?
Yet you made them only a little lower than God
and crowned them with glory and honor.
You gave them charge of everything you made,
putting all things under their authority—
the flocks and the herds
    and all the wild animals,
the birds in the sky, the fish in the sea,
and everything that swims the ocean currents.

Jesus scarified His life for us, so that we can return to our rightful stance. To be kings and queens in the kingdom. I encourage you to not only know that Jesus traded places with you, but know that He has found you worthy enough to die for you, His love is unfailing. Thank You Jesus for all that you have done. I am so unworthy but You have seen me worthy.

John 15:13-14 Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends. You are My friends if you do whatever I command you.
